Just a few more shows until the end of 2024! It has been an amazing year filled with the joys and triumphs of the Paris Summer Olympics and Paralympics. Who knew the star of those games would be a humble chocolate muffin? We have heard from a lot of athletes since they came home from the village. Nearly all have had an opinion about the Muffin, but no one has more fudge covered love than paraswimmer McKenzie Coan. Would she trade her Paris 2024 silver medal for another muffin? Maybe!
Lots of websites and shops claim to have developed a dupe for the champion chocolate muffin, but Tony Dore’, chief baker in the Olympic Village, has not disclosed his recipe. I have tried a few versions since returning home and so far none have quite captured the magic of the muffin. You need to have the right balance of cake, fudge ganache filling, and chocolate chip topping. Is French cocoa powder the secret? Did they use special ovens? Must they be so big to taste right? Do you need the fairy dust of the Athletes Village to replicate the perfect pastry?
Here are few recipes that claim to come the closest. Try them out and let us know!
And there are plenty more out there! Maybe leave some out for Santa and see what he thinks.

I'm a little bummed that I didn't get to try the chocolate muffin. I may have to try these recipes and see if it's just as good to not have the real thing!
